In terms of swimming, there are three beaches on Cat Ba Island named Cat Co 1, 2 and 3, located pretty near the central town. Beaches are filled with tourists services such as electric cars, food and drink to beachside activities. Water games available at Cat Co 1 and 2 would be a hit with kids.

About 200 km north of Ho Chi Minh City are Mui Ne and Phan Thiet. It takes about 3 hours from Ho Chi Minh city.
Taking a walk on those enormous White Sand Dunes in Mui Ne surely is the most exciting thing to do during your time in Vietnam, besides diving into the cool and clean sea water in the beaches. The sand dunes have become the main attraction and are one of a kind wonder you can rarely see around the world. The sand dunes cover an area of 7 ha, in region of two different provinces Binh Thuan and Ninh Thuan. Only in Mui Ne can people see the biggest and the most beautiful sand dunes. It is located at about 20 kilometers away to the northeast of Phan Thiet City. Most people don’t know, that the sand dunes include a variety of colors from white, red, yellow or even pink. Mui Ne is the best place to go to if you are into playing with sand. There is literally sand everywhere, from beaches, sandy springs to the sand dunes.
Note: All year round. Best time to visit is either early in the morning or late afternoon as the sand can get very hot during the day. Take lots of water.
Red CanyonThis is a path worth walking! You can take your time and once in a while sit down on a restaurant which you can find here and there. We visited the place twice, once with a larger group and once just the two of us. Of course there where a lot of other tourists, but you where also able to take pictures of an empty path |
Cu Lao CauCu Lao Cau Island or “Hon Ran” (Snake Islet) as people commonly call it for its literal meaning as a full-of-snake island, forming like a huge battleship anchoring alongside the coast with its prow heading to the South. Pilgrims who come near to Cu Lao Cau Island will immediately be impressed by its charmingly peaceful appearance. |
Swim, play and relax at the public beach in Mui Ne. Beachside services are available including cabanas, umbrellas, lounge chairs, food and drink. The water is clean and the waves are just exciting enough to make it fun for adults and kids.
Red Sand Dunes are a top attraction in Mui Ne. You can rent ‘boards’ to slide down the dunes.
The months between August and April would be the best time to visit Mui Ne. If you want to go there for surfing, the days between August and November are perfect for this sport since Mui Ne tends to have big waves at that time. If you want to enjoy the most beautiful beach, you should visit Mui Ne from December to April. In these months, the beach of Mui Ne is just amazing with yellow sand, blue water and clear sky. Tourists will have a great time lying on the beach under the palm trees; that will be a memorable experience.

Con island doesn’t have a shortage of beaches for your family. You’ll find that many of the public beaches are in pristine conditions with the superfine white sand and the lack of garbage. It’s truly paradise! Let’s hope everyone makes an effort to sustain these beautiful beaches for future visitors. Here are the top beaches that we went to:
Nhat BeachThis unassuming beach is off of the main road, Ben Dam . It’s the perfect spot to see the stunning sunset from the warm and clear waters. Unfortunately, there isn’t anything interesting to see in the water. Many minivans stop by here in the late afternoon for the sunset view. |
Dam Trau BeachLocated on the north side of the island near the airport is the Dam Trau Beach. If you want a good place to relax and see the propeller planes fly by, then this is the place to visit. It’s a neat experience to have them fly right overhead and so close to you. |
An Hai BeachIt’s an early wake-up call to see the orange and pink hues of the sunrise at 5am. Since you’re hanging out in the area, check out the fishermen’s daily catch of fresh seafood in the morning. The beach turns into a mini market with the sale of squid, fish, and rays |
Con Dao PrisonCon Dao prison is a place where your kids can study about the dire wars in Vietnam from the past. |
The best time to visit Con Dao Islands is during the dry season (November to February), but if you’re looking to see turtles nesting on Hon Bay Canh Island, visit between June and September. We booked a Cambodia-Thailand 13 day holiday package through Viet Tour. It was one of the most amazing Southeast Asia trip to my family. Viet travel Consultant Thao Nguyen guided us with her superlative professionalism. Extremely reciprocative and spot on to the real time info. Probably one of the best tour and travel consultant I encountered so far. We have plan to make further tours in South East Asia and will certainly rely on Viet. Simply one stop shop with high value for money.
Miss Loan the tour operator took us out for an evening meal when in Hanoi, she had been extremely helpful throughout the whole process, particularly as this was our first visit to the area. Then on to Ha Long Bay on an incredible cruise with Ginger Cruise with high quality dinning and wonderful decor in the cabins. I would strongly recommend Viet Prestige Travel to anyone who is looking to visit this part of the world with a bespoke agenda.
Had 10 days vietnam holiday as arranged by viet prestige travel with the help of Mr.Tuan. It was the most memorable vacation, it was very organized from the hotels, transportation and my itinerary was exceptional. I definitely will have my another holiday to be arranged by them.Great thanks to Mr.Tuan who assisted me from the time I arrived in the airport until I left the country.
Our organisor at Viet Prestige (Hoa Pham) was brilliant from start to finish. She designed and arranged our 15 day tour through Vietnam & Cambodia and our expectations were exceeded in every way. She was always in contact before (and during) the trip to ensure everything was going smoothly and also went far and beyond the call of duty when my wife left her coat in a minibus coming back from Halong Bay. Although it was a Sunday afternoon and we were due to leave for the airport in 45 minutes, on her day off, Hoa not only tracked down the driver and found the coat but managed to get this delivered to us within the hour as we were in transit going to the airport! Wonderful service and support. I can highly recommend Viet Prestige and especially Hoa, who ensured everything went to plan.
I contacted Thao Dinh at Viet Prestige travel to organise a private tour from North to South Vietnam for 17 days for the two of us. Thao was amazing, she listened to what we wanted, made great suggestions re what level of accommodation we should look at in each city. We had a private driver and private tour guides who were extremely flexible when we wanted to change our sightseeing around. Thao, Organised a cookery course, put us on the most amazing boat to cruise around Halong Bay (a definite must). Was contactable throughout the tour. I was so delighted that I have recommended her to all my friends.
