DETAILED ITINERARY
- Once arrival to Phnom Penh International Airport, Viet Prestige Travel’s guide and driver will meet you at the arrival lounge and escort you to your family’s hotel in downtown.
- Overnight in Phnom Penh.
- Phnom Penh is the vibrant bustling capital of Cambodia. Situated at the confluence of three rivers, the mighty Mekong, the Bassac and the great Tonle Sap, this city was once considered the ‘Gem’ of Indochina. The capital city exudes a sort of provincial charm and tranquillity with French colonial mansions and tree-lined boulevards amidst monumental Angkorian architecture.

- After breakfast, start Phnom Penh City tour for your family:
- Victory Monument (Independent Monument) – a modern reinterpretation of traditional Khmer architecture, was erected in 1958 to commemorate independence from France.
- National Museum of Cambodia – the largest museum of cultural history containing a collection of Khmer art.
- Royal Palace – a complex of buildings that serves as the royal residence of the King of Cambodia, comprising four main compounds: Silver Pagoda, Khemarin Palace, Throne Hall and Inner Court.
- Then, move to Toul Tom Pong Market (Russian Market( – the city’s best place to go shopping for art objects, including textiles, antiques, wood and marble carvings, ritual objects and old Indochina coins.
- End the second day of Cambodia and Laos Family Holiday with a visit to Wat Phnom Temple – Phnom Penh’s namesake – the tallest and most important temple in Phnom Penh Capital. From this temple, your family can enjoy the sunset views over the tree-lined avenues.
- Overnight in Phnom Penh.
- In the morning, head out to Phnom Tamao Wildlife Rescue Center – a wonderful home to over 1200 Cambodian animals including leopards, sun bears, elephants, tigers, gibbons, crocodiles, deer, enormous pythons, birds, etc.
- Most of these creatures were rescued from poachers and traffickers, and are kept in excellent, spacious enclosures where they are allowed to roam free. They will be well cared for here at the reserve until they recover when they will be released back into the wild.
- After that, transfer to Phnom Penh Airport for a domestic flight to Siem Reap.

- Start the Angkor Complex tour with Angkor Wat Temple, listed as UNESCO World Heritage since 1992. With its slender towers and unique bas-reliefs, it is one of the most extraordinary monuments ever designed by the human spirit, erected in the 12th century in honor of the God Vishnu.
- Then, turn to the South Gate to visit all the temples of Angkor Thom, the last royal city of the Khmer empire built under Jayavarman II. The heart of Angkor Thom is Bayon Temple consisting 54 gigantic towers with the sculpture of more than 200 smiling faces – the combination of the Avalokiteshvara and King’s face.
- Next, visit Hindu Temple Phimeanakas, Baphuon Temple, the Terrace of the Leper King and the Terrace of the Elephants.

- Built from the 9th to the 13th century at the height of Khmer civilization, the Angkor archaeological park is a masterpiece of the heritage of humanity. On the bunds of rice fields, on forest paths, you will have the opportunity to walk between giant stone smiles and discover the most secret monuments of Angkor. In addition, Siem Reap also retains the eternal rural beauty of Cambodia. The peaceful walk through the rice fields is a perfect antidote to the urban bustle.

- Drive out of Siem Reap city to Banteay Srei Temple or The Citadel of Women, a precious jewel of Khmer art.
- Built in the 1930s, this temple is made up of several pavilions whose facades are finely carved with a multitude of flower motifs and scenes from Hindu mythology. Patterns are carved in pink sandstone which changes colors according to the sunshine.
- Then, discover the mysterious Ta Prohm Temple – the temple covered by the huge roots.
- This temple was a monastery built by Jayavarman II as a residence for his mother. After the fall of the Khmer Empire in the 15th century, the Ta Prohm was abandoned. Over time, it was truly engulfed by gigantic cheese trees. Since the shooting of the film “Tomb Raider”, this temple is famous for adventure and discovery enthusiasts.

- Drive about 40 minutes into the countryside near Siem Reap to visit local village and then take a boat on Tonle Sap Lake about 30 minutes.
- Your family can observe the floating lives of many communities on floating houses and boats, including schools, markets, police stations, children playing and swimming, and freshwater aquariums with different fish species displayed.
- Tonle Sap is the largest fresh water in South East Asia. Its dimension changes depending on the monsoon and dry season. This lake provide many of biodiversities, over 300 species of fresh water fishes, as well as snakes, crocodiles, tortoises, turtles and otters. More than 100 varieties water birds including storks, pelicans, etc. There are four main floating villages on Tonle sap Lake: Chong Kneas, Kampong Phluk, Merchey, and Kampong Khleang.
- Move to Siem Reap International Airport for the next flight to Luang Prabang City.
- Overnight in Luang Prabang.

- Participate an Alms Giving Ceremony, at which hundreds of Luang Prabang monks from the different 35 temples walk in silence, meditating as they collect their daily alms from devotees.
- Your city tour begins after the breakfast, with some highlights in Luang Prabang such as Royal Palace Museum, Wat Xieng Thong – one of the largest and the most decorative temples; Wat Mai with its impressive gilded facade.
- Do not forget to climb 328 steps to the top of the mount Phousi and enjoy the panoramic views of the city.
- When the sun sets, take a one-hour walking tour to Luang Prabang Night Market, which opens from dusk until 10 p.m selling various kinds of souvenirs such as colorful textiles, carvings, ceramics, clothing, etc.

- Take a boat up along the Mekong River to the Pak Ou Caves – home to hundreds of statues of Buddha with different shapes and size.
- On the way to come back, pay a visit to Living Crafts Centre, located on the bank of Mekong River, consider as the world of Laos handicrafts and textiles.
- Discover stunning giant Kuang Si Waterfalls that flows through limestone-rich jungle and empties out into a series of three gently cascading pools.
- See up close Asiatic bears at the Bear Rescue Centre along the jungle walk to the waterfall.
- Make a stop at Ban Xang Hai, which is famous for its home-made rice alcohol “Lao-lao”.

- Today, your family will learn how to be a Mahout (Elephant Controller), each family member will take care of each elephant in the Elephant Village Camp.
- Receive basic mahout training on how to control your elephant just like a mahout, get closer and personal with elephants then feed him or her.
- Take your own elephant down to the Nam Khan river for an exhilarating and once in a lifetime bathing experience!
- Then, take a traditional Lao longboat to the Tad Sae Waterfall and relax, dip your feet or take a swim in the clear, cool water.
- Transfer back to hotel and be ready for the next flight to Vientiane – the capital of Laos.

- After breakfast, first visit Wat Si Muang, which is very famous for its supernatural power.
- Next stop is Buddha Park – an enchanting collection of Buddhist and Hindu sculptures on the Mekong Riverside meadow, next to the Friendship Bridge.
- There are approximately 200 religious images dating back over 500 years, which were created by a mysterious monk spreading his philosophy on life and revealing his ideas about the universe.
- Take a sightseeing tour of Vientiane to religious museum of Wat Si Saket – the oldest temple from the Siamese war of 1828. The cloister and sim have been turned into a museum housing thousands of Buddha images. The museum includes over 10,000 images of the Buddha in various mudras.
- Right across the street is another Vientiane’s most important temples – Haw Phra Kaew. Its name derives from the Emerald Buddha. It then turned into the temple for Laos Royals and to enshrine the Emerald Buddha, which stayed here until 1779 before being taken to Thailand.
- Visit Pha That Luang Stupa – Lao’s most important Buddhist monument. The galleries on the inside of the cloister walls contain ancient Laos and Khmer artifacts like sculpting, statues, and inscribed steles.
- On the way, take some pictures of the imposing Patuxay Monument, which is well known as Vientiane’s own Arc de Triumph.
- Finish the tenth day of Cambodia and Laos Family Holiday during 11 days with a spectacular view over the Mekong River at sunset.
