DETAILED ITINERARY
- Once arriving in Tan Son Nhat International Airport, Viet Prestige Travel’s guide and driver will welcome and escort you for hotel check in.
- Overnight in Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon City) – the business and financial hub of Vietnam.

- In the morning of the first day in Vietnam and Laos Family Holiday, drive about 40 kilometers outside of Ho Chi Minh City to visit the amazing Cu Chi Tunnels. As the location of several military campaigns during the Vietnam War, the tunnels were the Viet Cong’s base of operations for the Tet Holiday (Tết) Offensive in 1968. Visitors get to crawl around in the safer parts of the tunnel system. The 100-meter long tunnel (designed specifically for tourists) situated 7 meters underground was very dark, narrow, and feels claustrophobic.
- In the afternoon, back to Sai Gon for Ho Chi Minh Sightseeing Tour by making a halt at many highlight attraction of this bustling city:
- – Former Presidental Palace (Reunification Palace) now preserved as a museum
- – 19th century Notre Dame Cathedral, Central Old Post Office – the well examples of classical French Colonial architecture.
- – Remnant War Museum where foreigners learn about crimes committed by other country’s troops and the affection of wars, especially the effect of Agent Orange on children born after war.
- – Ben Thanh Market – great destination to buy local handicrafts, branded goods, Vietnamese art and other souvenirs. Your family will find eating stalls inside the market where you can get a taste of hawker-style Vietnamese cuisine.

- Depart Saigon and drive south to Ben Tre, about 90 kilometers from Ho Chi Minh City, a province of Mekong Delta and is famous for its tropical fruit gardens and traditional handicrafts made of coconuts. Your family first stop is a brick kiln to see how the locals still use traditional methods to make the bricks.
- Then board on your private boat and start cruising to My Long craft village, stop at local house to see the production process of rice paper.
- Next, your kids will be very excited when joining local coconut workshop to learn how coconut candy and coconut souvenirs are made by hand by a cruise through coconut jungle.
- Take a fun tuk tuk ride on village paths to a tropical garden of a fruit farmer, enjoy a walk around his orchard. Chat with the farmer whilst tasting fresh seasonal fruits in his garden.
- Continue your leisure sight-seeing until reaching a charming local restaurant for lunch with Mekong specialties such as deep-fried elephant-ear fish. After lunch, have a short break before getting on sampan for rowing through the idyllic water palm creek. Arrive at your main boat and cruise back to Hung Vuong Pier where your driver awaits for a drive to Can Tho.

- Wake up early this morning for an exploration of the real Mekong Delta. A trip to Can Tho would not been considered finished if you miss the famous Cai Rang floating market – the biggest one in Mekong Delta.
- Board a local boat at Ninh Kieu pier and explore the colorful Cai Rang floating market, where many boats laden with fruits, vegetables and fish jostle for trade. The best time to visit is around 6am to 7am, and it’s well worth getting here early to beat the boatloads of tourists and the heat. Sellers advertise their wares by crying out across the waters or tie their goods to a tall pole attached to their boat so that buyers can see from a distance what is being sold.
- Relax and enjoy the cruise back to the hotel where we will freshen up before we check-out and return to Saigon.
- After having lunch, ready for the domestic flight from Ho Chi Minh City to Danang City – a melting pot of the country’s old and new. Your family moves to Hoian Ancient Town, which used to be Southeast Asian trading port dating from the 15th to the 19th century.
- After hotel check-in, take a walk in Hoi An town and visit the unique architectures mixed from Chinese, Japanese, French styles such as the former merchants’ homes, the 400 year-old Japanese Covered Bridge, Phuc Kien Pagoda, etc. When the sun sets, the pedestrian-friendly streets of Hoi An transform into a vibrant display of traditional lanterns, folk dance performances, and lit candles floating down Thu Bon River.

Cycle through the rice paddy fields in the countryside of Hoi An ancient town, shop for souvenirs among the antique shops and art galleries, or just sit at sidewalk cafes and soak up the atmosphere of this quaint town.
- Share in the daily work life of local farmers – hoeing and a soil, watering veggie at an organic herb garden, riding water buffalo in the field, join a cooking class and enjoy the freshest air of the countryside beauty, for example in Tra Que Herb Village.

- After breakfast, leave Hoian for Hue city by vans. Hue was chosen to be the capital of the Southern Kingdom under Nguyen Lords’ Dynasty, and officially became the nation’s capital under Tay Son Dynasty, King Quang Trung. This is the last imperial capital of Vietnam, well-known for magnificent architecture, pagodas and royal tombs laid in small villages and surrounding hills and one of the most popular cities for all the Vietnam Family Tours.
- On the way, have a look at the famous Danang Beach, and visit Cham Museum which contains the finest collection of Cham sculpture in the world, Marble Mountain – a well-known pilgrimage site with peaks, caves, tunnels and temples and Non Nuoc Stone Carving Village located at the foot of Marble Mountains.

- Start the day with a visit to the Imperial Citadel, home to the Imperial City and Forbidden Purple City where your family will get better understanding of the beauty of Vietnamese Royal architecture and culture.
- – Imperial City of Hue was once an enormous complex full of all the executive and bureaucracy you would expect from a country’s capital. It was enclosed within a square fortress (also known as the Hue Citadel), with each of the four walls about 2 kilometres long and a wide moat on the outside. All through this huge city were temples, palaces, offices, gardens, and residences. The most important bit was in the middle.
- – Purple Forbidden City, located in the middle of the city, is the most important bit. This place is used to be the private residence of the emperor and his closest confidants lived and worked. In the past, it would have been inaccessible to most people. Now, of course, we can all walk through it and see what remains.
- Then, take a beautiful dragon boat trip along Perfume River and visit to Thien Mu Pagoda – one of the oldest and prettiest religious buildings in Vietnam.
- In the afternoon, continue on your family journey with the visit to King Ming Mang and King Khai Dinh tombs which are the most beautiful works of royal architecture of the Nguyen dynasty.

- Arrive at Halong Bay, enjoy approximately 24 hours journey in the spectacular bay: a natural wonderland composed of jutting limestone islands and sparkling turquoise waters.

- Participate an Alms Giving Ceremony, the daily morning rituals of saffron-clad monks collecting offerings of Alms (ubiquitous sticky rice) from the faithful residents. Hundreds of Luang Prabang monks from the different 35 temples walk in silence, meditating as they collect their daily alms from devotees. This tradition is unique in Laos, being the only Buddhist nation still preserving the procession.
- Drop off at the morning Phousi Market, where you will see such diverse offerings as dried buffalo skin, local tea and saltpeter among the chickens, vegetables and hill-tribe weavings.
- Enjoy a family sightseeing the city’s oldest temple of Wat Sene, the magnificent Wat Xieng Thong with its roofs sweeping low to the ground, which represents classical Laotian architecture; and Wat Mai with its impressive gilded facade.
- Do not forget to climb 328 steps to the top of the mount Phousi and enjoy the panoramic views of the city.
- When the sun sets, take a one-hour walking tour to Luang Prabang Night Market, which opens from dusk until 10 p.m selling various kinds of souvenirs such as colorful textiles, carvings, ceramics, clothing, etc.

- Take a boat up along the Mekong River, which also gives us a breathtaking view of the tranquil countryside as well as explore the mysterious Pak Ou Caves, two linked caves crammed with thousands of gold lacquered Buddha statues of various shapes and sizes left by pilgrims.
- On the way to come back, pay a visit to Ban Xiang Hai which is famous for its home-made rice alcohol “Lao-lao” ang Ban Xiangkhong – a village well-known for its silk weavings and Jute Papermaking.
- Discover stunning giant Kuang Si Waterfalls that flows through limestone-rich jungle and empties out into a series of three gently cascading pools.
- Be ready for a short domestic flight from Luang Prabang to Vientiane – the capital and largest city of Laos, on the banks of the Mekong River near the border with Thailand.
