  • The second day of Vietnam and Thailand Tour begins with a two-hour ride from Ho Chi Minh to Cai Be Town of Mekong Delta. 
  • Upon arrival in Cai Be, take a boat ride to  one of the highlights of Mekong Delta – Cai Be Floating Market on Tien River. Observe the lives on boats, how wholesalers sale and buy their products.
  • Ramble in small village to discover the beauty of ancient house and observe the indigenous culture. 
  • Keep cruising to Vinh Long through the small canals and let yourself immerse in the tranquility of nature.
  • Make a stop in a small family business producing crispy rice popcorn and coconut fudges.
  • Have lunch with local specialties such as “deep-fried elephant-ear fish” rolling with noodles, fresh herbs then dipping into fish sauce.
  • Cycle in the village path through orchards. Enjoy wonderful fresh fruit while listening to “Đờn ca tài tử” – Southern Vietnamese Folk music, a kind of music entwined with the life and cultue of the Mekong Delta people.
  • Meet the van in Vinh Long, your family will transfer back to Ho Chi Minh City.

A Family on a Cruise from Cai Be to Vinh Long

  • Drive out for 40 hours to Cu Chi Tunnel Complex – a famous symbol of Vietnamese history, consist of various underground tunnels which create a unique and stunning ancient structure. 
  • The tunnels were not very deep, but they was built to resistant to bullets and the weight of tanks, armored vehicles, and deep sections resisted small bombs during the war.
  • Back to Ho Chi Minh City for lunch and then start a half-day tour around the city:
  • Reunification Palace – a must-visit for tourists in Saigon, used to be the base of  Vietnamese General Ngo Dinh Diem until his death in 1963.
  • Saigon Notre Dame Cathedral  – one of the few remaining strongholds of Catholicism in the largely Buddhist Vietnam, built in the late 1880s by French colonists.
  • The Old Saigon Post Office –  a beautifully preserved remnant of French colonial times and perhaps the grandest post office in all of Southeast Asia.
  • After that, transfer to Tan Son Nhat Airport for a domestic flight to Da Nang City.

  • Enjoy a pedal boat ride through canals to see the old part of the floating market and the local daily life along the canal, then taste fruits and local dishes from other boats.
  • Proceed to Ratchaburi train station for a night train to Chiang Mai, Thailand.

  • Then, move to Wat Phra Singh with its famous Buddha image, housing three main structures, the main attraction being the elegantly decorated Lai Kam assembly hall and its restored murals depicting the lives of locals hundreds of years ago.
  • Continue to Wat Chai Mongkhon – an important religious site for native people. Visitors can take the freedom to some animals such as fish and turtle into the river, and free birds to the sky.
  • At night, you should head to the lively Waroros market. This market is the hub of local life and bursting with fresh flowers and local street food stalls. Let’s explore the market by sampling some local Thai sweets to finish off your wonderful night.

  • After breakfast, drive to Wat Phra That Doi Suthep – one of northern Thailand’s most sacred temples. It is about 15 kms from the city; 3,500 ft. above sea level and built in 1383. To reach the wat, take a tram car or walk up the Naga (dragon-headed serpent) staircase with more than 300 steps. At that height, you will enjoy the spectacular  panoramic views of Chiang Mai City on a clear day. Admire the marvelous golden pagoda which is contain the relics of the Lord Buddha.
  • On the way to Wat Phra That Doi Suthep, make a stop at Wat Suan Dok – a Buddhist temple founded by King Kue Na of Lanna Kingdom. 
  • Then move to Baan Tong Luang in order to visit several hill tribe groups including the Akha which is famous for gorgeous headdresses decorated with silver coins. This is also home to Karen long-necked women. Coming here, visitors have chances of observing the local daily life of people.
